Τhe European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which came into effect on May 25, 2018, requires increased awareness from private insurance professionals regarding the protection of their customers' data. The SafeCape Insurance.Office© application supports compliance with the regulation at multiple levels, facilitating communication with customers, while the Insurance.Office Cloud© service ensures the confidentiality, integrity, availability, and reliability of the systems involved in the processing of personal data on a continuous basis.

Furthermore, a central requirement of the GDPR regulation is the customer consent to the processing of their personal data for a specific purpose, a consent that must be given in an explicit and clear manner and can be revoked at any time freely and easily. Specifically, in the case of promotional activities via email and SMS, it is necessary to be able to record the revocation of the customer's consent to future promotional activities and to support this function automatically, through all available communication channels of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Thus, in order to facilitate compliance with the regulation in daily practice, the integrated CRM system of the SafeCape Insurance.Office application includes fields and functions related to the exclusion from future promotional activities: In each contact card, the desire for exclusion can be recorded, while each SMS or email template can be marked as a "Promotional activity". In this way, any customer who has revoked their consent will be automatically excluded from any future promotional activity, while continuing to normally receive the necessary informational messages regarding their current contracts, financial obligations, etc. These functions thus support compliance with the regulation, without, however, hindering the communication with the customer that is necessary for the smooth operation of an insurance business.
